2 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches how to escape from an opponent looking to establish the N/S position, and he also shows an option to finish the escape with a Steven Seagal style armbar: [I] Before your opponent has a chance to lay his weight onto your chest from above, frame against his hips to open up enough space for a Peak-Out. Gain momentum to sit up for the Hip Turn series by rocking your legs and clawing around the opponent's neck. At the very least, claim the position around his back to escape back to your guard. [II] If the opponent remains fixated on keeping his position, take advantage by transitioning to a dominant hold, e.g. Seatbelt Control, Front Headlock, Crucifix; Or, better yet, take control over his arm resting across your body and fasten an Armbar, wrenching upward as you lean back for weight.
