Marcelo helps explain when to transition from Single Leg X to the X-Guard. If you can grab and keep hold of your opponent's far wrist, you can sit up and drive them back for a low amplitude sweep. However, if your opponent is keeping that far-arm away from your control, this is a good opportunity to switch from an Overhook on the leg to an Underhook, and switch your hooks to the full X-Guard position. From there, you can come up with the leg and finish with the Take-Out-the-Trash Sweep.
