Posture vs Spider Guard Lasso
Marcelo helps Gabby with improving her transitions and control from the top position: Sometimes ducking back underneath your opponent's leg and seemingly going back into your opponent's guard is one way to unravel a sticky Lasso or Spider-Guard grip from your sleeve(s). Once you have a upright posture (e.g. Miragaia, Head-Quarters, et al.), you can select whichever direction to pass that your opponent offers up (e.g. Folding Pass, Bernardo's Over/Under, et al.). He also reminds Gabby that when you are even with your opponent positionally, it is important to prod and test out multiple directions with your legs while maintaining control with your arms. Keeping your base stationary is best used after you have advanced position and need to keep your opponent behind in the battle.
