Hand Fighting
Marcelo helps Megan with hand-fighting for both gi and no-gi: When your opponent isn't readily committing to an attack, use your hands to help force an exaggerated reaction from them; pop their shoulders with strong posts and get them to act on these small, subtle imbalances so that you can build up into an attack of your own. When your opponent has tightened down into a set position to keep ahold of an advantageous angle, you may need to begin your response with your hands first in order to create space for an adequate defense. Use your hands to create small openings before trying to frame space with the larger segments of your arm; work on looking for these smaller details when your opponent is ahead and there doesn't seem to be any room to manage an appropriate counter.
