Hand Fighting from Butterfly
Marcelo, Josh, and Jordan talk about attacking from Butterfly-Guard: If you can close the distance against a kneeling opponent and slap on a Collar-Tie & Elbow-Control, you can break their posture and advance with an attack in response to their anticipated correction; e.g. you may be able to enter an Elbow-Control Armbar (a.k.a Shotgun-Armbar, Kanukigatame, et al.), or an Omoplata (a.k.a. Coil-Lock, Sankakugarami, et al.) if they rotate their arm out of extension. One should also try cultivating the ability to hand-fight for Double Under-Hooks; this deep entry can lead to many kinds of off-balance, e.g. the Inverted-Armbar (a.k.a. Telephone-Armbar, Razor-Lock, Udegatame, et al.) when your opponent posts overhead. If your opponent posts on your shoulders to block you from pulling yourself close, you can switch for Double-Elbow Control and let their hands slip passed. Use even your fingertips to help pull your opponent forward into the imbalance, then advance forward for a deeper set of Under-Hooks as you look to undermine their base with a Hook-Lift.
