2 Part Technique - When you make the mistake of letting someone with good positional maintenance obtain the mount, you may have to try riskier escaping techniques to free yourself from his control. Turn onto your side, exposing your back slightly, and maneuver your top foot over his ankle so you can drag it back to half guard as you push his knee down with your hands. Once in half guard, switch your hands to his other knee, hip escape, and recover the closed guard -- or place your feet on his hips and push back to settle into butterfly. If he prevents you from reaching his other knee, obtain an underhook and hip escape outward to insert a butterfly hook. Use these controls in combination with removing his farside post to execute the hook sweep and end up with Underhook & Head Control.
