Pull Escape vs Kimura, Turning Pass vs Half Guard, Side Control to North South, Kimura Grip vs Half Guard
2 Part Technique - If your opponent interrupts your half guard pass by attempting a Kimura, immediately hide your hand underneath your thigh until you can reach your arm with your other hand to support against his pulling. Use your grip to turn his own hold with a counter shoulderlock by lifting up on his figure-four. If he doesn't let go, his shoulder will dislocate; if he does let go, quickly secure a reverse underhook and free your leg from his half guard with the Turning Pass. If he manages to claim an underhook against your Turning Pass, reply in kind with the Kimura on his arm. The hold isn't for finishing, but maintaining the top position for your pass; the kimura submission has low percentage of success against larger, stronger opponents and you shouldn't jeopardize your top position with the risk of reversal.
