2 Part Technique - If your opponent pulls guard from standing, keep the passing battle on your feet; his weight in this position works against his ability to maintain his Closed Guard. Push his hips down to the mat with your hands from Double Under Control while Standing. The moment he uncrosses his ankles, pin his leg to the mat with your hand and look to cross your shin over his thigh with the Knee Slide Pass vs Open Guard. If he manages to gain an underhook while hanging on to his guard, secure your own underhook, and begin using your other hand to work directly on his leg. Once he drops open, pass his guard and establish the Side Control.
