Please add these tags (Kick-back pass vs Butterfly, and North South Pass vs Inverted Guard)

Please add the "Kick-Back Pass vs Butterfly" tag to these two videos. They should clearly have this tag.

Additionally, for the first video (16979) I think it should also include the "Double Under Pass vs Inverted Guard" tag. For some reason the website created a brand new tag "North South Control vs Inverted Open Guard" for this video, but to me it looks like it shares enough in common with the In Action clips of "Double Under Pass vs Inverted Guard" and they could have very well included them as the same tag (or created a new label, like "North South Pass vs Inverted Guard").

Here are my comments on the differences between the new instructional (currently only tagged as "North South Control vs Inverted Open Guard) and his In Action clips tagged as "Double Under Pass vs Inverted Guard":
- In the instructional, Marcelo teaches to push the opponent's knees back with his hands. In Action, he either gets double under control and tries to use his shoulders or forearms to push the hips back, or he puts his head in the crotch and uses his hands to lift up on the knees.
- In both the instructional and the In Action clips, Marcelo puts his weight on his opponent's arms. In the instructional, he drives forward to collapse the opponent's arms and get chest to chest. In Action, he sometimes drives forward (just like the instructional), and sometimes moves to the side to create an angle in order to collapse the arms.

Videos with audio out of one speaker only the past few days

I've noticed the videos for the past week or so only have audio coming out of one speaker. I only use one earphone when I watch the videos at work, so this has really messed me up because the earphone I use is the opposite that the audio is coming from!

Like I said, this has only been the case for a few days to a week, so I hope it isn't a permanent thing.

Tag by belt and Flow Chart Creation

I'm a complete beginner and finding it hard to know where to start exactly. Was wondering if there is a beginner section or videos that are tagged by belt level?

Flow Chart Creation
Also is there a place within the website for people to create their own bjj flow chart system/decision tree so that people can then discuss about it or comment about it? I guess the folder tree structure could be setup that way, but it would be nice to have arrows pointing and stuff and then drag and drop the videos into the flow chart diagram.

Lower frame rate on newer videos?

I have noticed that the newest sparring videos seem to have a lower frame rate - they look much more "stop-motion animated" than the older vids.
I must admit this takes some of the enjoyment out of watching them.
Is this due to a new camera being used, or is it a necessity in order to keep the vid size down as the database has grown so much?

(examples: look at vid ID 3328 (old) and 16645 (new).

Adding Sound to Videos!!

I don't know about everyone else but when I watch a match or roll, hearing the sound makes a huge difference and is something I would enjoy on this website. I don't know if they take away the sound because they are playing music in the background but I personally would not care about the background noise. By adding the sound to the video you would give everyone the choice to take in the roll in its entirety, and for those that wish to have no sound they still have the mute button. Thanks!

By the way, this is a great video because it discusses a solid gameplan (complete with grip fighting comments) for dealing with an opponent intent on pulling guard. While Marcelo has shown tons of pull guard techniques, I don't see a lot of lessons that address how to take advantage of someone trying to pull guard on him.

It would be great if Marcelo could teach more techniques addressing this common situation in class!

New Videos lack sound on phone

As described in the title, the most recently loaded video at any given time never seems to have sound when played on my phone. The second or third video, in order of load date, work fine but the most recent one is silent. This has been going on for around a month now so it's no fluke.

Website Suggestion - Inaction Tab

I was wondering if it'd be possible to be able to view the original roll/sparring session from the Inaction clips. Sometimes there are times where i'll be watching Marcelo perform a move (I.E 1 Leg X-Guard Entry), and I'd like to see the entire roll, but cant because there is no way to navigate to the clip that the Inaction clip was tagged from. I then went to the Sparring tab and and would often have difficulty finding the sparring clip that corresponded with the Inaction clip. Maybe there could be an option to view the sparring session that the inaction clip was taken from?

Ability To Move Folders

Currently under "My Page" you can create folders, but what would be cool is if you could move folders inside of other folders. Sometimes I'll create a new folder with a better organizational flow and would like to move older folders inside of it but you currently cant do that.

This technique is currently only tagged with "spiral armbar from mount". I think it should also be tagged with "Leg Pull Counter vs Deep Half Guard". Currently there are several InAction clips of MG using this technique, but no instructionals. So far this is the only instructional I've seen that explains his thoughts on this move.

Sparring intensity tag

Just a thought, a tag for the intensity level of sparring videos might be useful. Sometimes you want to see Marcelo chaining techniques agressively, using lots of pressure and taking whatever opening he can like he does in tournaments. On other occasions it's fun to watch Marcelo flowing and experimenting. A two or three step set of tags for sparring intensity might be useful, something like:

1. Low intensity, teaching or flow rolling.

2. Mid intensity, day to day sparring.

3. High intensity, competition prep.

Overseas Military

I work for the military and live overseas. My state is listed as an AP address which is not listed as an option in the credit card billing or address section. I usually have to list a country so that I can fill in my address. This causes confusion at MGinAction, because you believe I'm a foreigner.

This becomes a problem for me when:

1. You guys won't send me the promo DVD for signing up for a year
2. You guys won't send me a check for referrals.

Any mail sent to an AP/AE/AA are treated as regular U.S. mail and doesn't incur additional costs.

So us military guys list our CITY as APO/FPO/DPO and STATE as AP/AE/AA.

I recommend adding an option in the drop down menu for the State to include AP, AE and AA.

iPad website

Hi. Is the website very limited on the iPad or is it just me. I can't use flash being its an iPad, therefore can't use the normal site. On the mobile site it is very limited. I can't search for anything, and have a max of a few videos. If this is the case I will have to sign off the site as most of my time is spent viewing it on the ipd.

Any ideas.

Video Issue on Mac

When watching a video on the Mac (Lion/10.8.2) and all recent versions of Firefox. If I use the two finger scrolling gesture while the cursor is over top of the playing video, the video resets to the beginning. Obviously there is a workaround though I often forget and the video restarts from the beginning. You have to skip through the video and find where you left off. It doesn't happen on videos from other sides so I assume it has something to do with the player configuration?

Are there any plans on adding different methods of payment such as paypal?

Problem loading videos

Hi I've bought a new pc yesterday and I have been encountering this problem since. I can longer watch any of the videos on the site while it is loading, meaning I can only watch them after the video is fully loaded. I have a slower internet connection so if I were to watch your 5min video I will have to wait 5min before I can start watching them as it forces me to wait unitl it is done. The video player no longer shows me the bar which shows me how far into the video it has been loaded, it will only show up when it is complete.

Please help me solve this issue asap!

I just signed up today. As much as I love MG, I can't help but take notice of the serious slowness of the site. Will there be any changes soon? I think at least a couple dedicated servers are needed at a minimum for a site with this much video going on... I hope to hear from you guys. I'm not sure I can handle the slowness.

In some of the motorcycle forums I frequent there are links to go to that only show New Posts, Posts I've responded to, and posts I've started. All three I feel would make the forum that much better that way you don't have to go through all the posts to possibly find specific ones. I'd be glad to show Jordan or Jimmy what these other forums look like.

How bout adding commentary to the training videos with other visuals such as pausing, direction arrows, etc.? Commentators could say what the defenders are doing well, what they missed, and perhaps even talk about the progression of the attackers.
There could be a rotation of guest commentators providing their insight or even offer their own preferences for a particular situation. It might be a little tougher to organize, but you could string together parts of videos to address a particular theme that the commentator wants to talk about. You could even get the students in the video to talk about what they were thinking or what they were trying to do in rough positions.
It was just a thought. As it stands, the site is a great resource.

If you got to that link you will see that it list like 33 videos for the butterfly, bottom, overhook and hand control part of the tech tree but nothing shows up to view ( ie all tabs are 0 )

Video of Different Belt levels rolling

I'm a newly promoted purple belt and working on improving my butterfly as my main guard. During live rolling it is sometimes difficult to see that you are making progress. When I review Marcelo's videos he is at such a high level and his timing perfect I just wonder am I getting it right. So with that in mind here is my suggestion; It would be nice to see some live rolling from some of the lower coloured belts to allow some comparisons of progress challanges.

Was curious after seeing the picture of MG and Eddie Bravo not so long ago (around the Ultimate Absolute NYC) if there was any videos of them sparring but most importantly just any discussion about BJJ I think them explaining their philosophies together is simply good for BJJ no matter the gi/ no gi debate. Overall the winner is BJJ. So do we have anything? I am quite sure everyone else is dying to know? Also on side note any videos with Fabio giving instruction?

Hi,

I really enjoy all the techniques and the "in action" sequences, but I think there are some gems in the discussions, i.e. things he figured out (one that comes to mind is Marcelo talking about how he doesn't necessarily try to do the same stuff on each side but has a different game on each...it's one of the discussions on the best of 2010).

I understand it depends on availability, but if you guys can capture more of those philosophical or enlightenment discussion, that would be awesome.

What is the opinion on account sharing?

Hello!

I recently signed up and fell in love with this website. It has helped me out alot. I'm splitting the cost with a friend and we usually watch the stuff together on my cellphone or computer.

I'm wondering if it is acceptable for 2 persons to share the account so that we can study on our own aswell as together. I'm asking because I most definately do not want to get in any kind of trouble for this.

I have an iPad and many people have laptops they use for this website. The gym I go to does not have wifi but I really would like to bring my iPad with me to train as an aid. It would be cool if you could somehow watch the videos that are on "my page" when you are offline. What are the chances for this?
