3 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches follow-through and contingency for a Sweep Single: [I] Aim to capture your opponent's leg by forcing him to pivot heavily as you drag him down into a stoop and latch around his knee for a Single Leg Takedown. Continue holding the collar as you circle the opponent down and keep holding it to establish top control. [II] If your opponent posture up, slide your hand from the collar down to the bottom skirt-tail of his jacket's lapel and feed it in between his legs to your other hand. Either run-the-pipe or finish with the original swirling technique by re-grabbing the collar after you secure the Pumphandle-style grip. [III] If your opponent prevents you from grabbing onto his collar again, seize his sleeve and use it to finish the Single. Be sure to avoid bringing your hips too close toward the threat of an Uchimata counterattack.
