2 Part Lesson — Marcelo disrupts his opponent's Seatbelt Control: [I] Approach the mechanism of breaking the opponent's grip by discerning the orientation of his thumb; if exposed, secure a grip on the meat of his palm (not his actual thumb, which is illegal) and peel off his control. If his thumb is hidden and there is no edge from which to take ahold of his hand, begin scraping his knuckles with the heel of your palm repeatedly until his grip breaks loose. [II] If your opponent prematurely releases the Seatbelt Control to gain a reset, immediately hide the space under your armpits to avoid allowing him to gain the Over/Under Control from the Back. Use your head to balance on the mat while turtled to avoid getting scrubbed while you look to break his grip.
