2 Part Lesson — Marcelo patiently dominates the Half Mount for the pass: [I] Whether you pin down the opponent's knee with your hand and pummel for Over/Under Control, or vault atop of his hips directly with your knees, lay heavily on his arm captured with the Overhook and keep low to secure the position for the Half Guard Pass. Use the Overhook to open up space for you to place the sole of your foot flat against his thigh to push, slipping your trapt leg free. If your opponent inserts a Butterfly Hook to offset your position, ride out his lift and fall away until you can circle around to Side Control. [II] If your opponent draws his bottom leg close, preventing you from invading in between his Elbow/Knee connection, place your hand on his knee as a place holder until you can swap out your hand for your foot to continue the pass.
