2 Part Lesson — Marcelo troubleshoots his Leg Over Pass: [I] Tuck your foot up and away from your opponent's feet when you surmise that he is searching for the Lockdown/Grapevine (Nijugarami) while inside of his Half Guard. Lay low and urgently free your knee from his control before proceeding to Side Control with the Over/Under Pass. If your opponent captures the Lockdown and goes Deep under your other leg, immediately swing your leg across his body and apply the Leg Over Pass with an Underhook. If you miss the Underhook, spin away and reface the opponent; pummel for either a Farside or Reverse Underhook for the Backstep Pass. [II] If your leg gets caught on your opponent's shoulder, try pushing his head so that your foot slips off and you can find the Leg Over Pass. If pushing his head is insufficient, grab ahold of your opponent's triceps/elbow and yank his arm low to help clear a path for your leg to slide off his shoulder.
