2 Part Lesson — Marcelo escapes and counters the North/South Position: [I] If you are trapped underneath with an Over/Under Control, place your free arm on the hip of the same side as your arm caught in the (Reverse) Overhook, and shimmy your shoulders until you transition to Bottom Side Control. Make a grip behind the opponent's triceps and tug your arm free while performing the Elbow Push Escape back to guard. [II] If your opponent transitions to the 45° angle between Side Control and North/South, placing his weight against your Elbow Push Escape, turn over onto your knees and attack the Single Leg. You may pull into Half, drive forward with a Double, or come up to Run-The-Pipe, but never sit down on top of his extended leg after you rake it out with your foot.
