Stacking Pass vs Open Guard → Shoulder Drive to North South
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo takes note of guard flexibility and passes accordingly: [I] Try running around to the opposite side when you clear your opponent's legs with a Stack Passs (Double or Single), this tactic alone may catch him off guard long enough to establish the top position. However, if your opponent proves difficult to fold up and keeps his legs heavy, hop over his foot and trap one leg with a Quarter Mount. Tap the trapped knee as you jump over and release the far leg for control over the hips. Drive on your toes and keep tight until you find an opening to grab the upper body and solidify the top. [II] Deflect your opponent's frames after you clear his legs by shimmying your shoulders and shifting your profile to close in on the North/South Position.
