2 Part Lesson — Marcelo finds the North/South Choke: [I] If your opponent is properly defending against the choke by looking inward and also turning up onto their side, use your hip to rake the opponent's chin skyward for the North/South Choke. Don't throw all of your weight through your him on top of the head otherwise you won't have enough room to slip your choking arm around the neck; grab the head as you push the jaw with your hips. [II] If your opponent prevents you from finding closure on the choke by stopping your free hand from making a grip, use your knee to break the opponent's defense and find your hand. This can be done with the arm trapped inside your squeeze or not. If the arm is in, use a Seatbelt-Grip; if it is out, rely on the Gable-Grip.
