Breaking the Closed Guard, Knee Slide Pass, Over Under Pass vs Half Guard, Knee Cross vs Half Guard
2 Part Technique - Maintain your balance if the opponent jumps guard while standing and do not become straight. The opponent can secure and easy take down when if remain perpendicular. Press against the opponent's hip and knee to break open his guard. Continue the control and slide your knee through the opponent's open legs. If the opponent reaches under to grab a leg while continuing the closed guard, use your strongest arm to break his guard. After the break, the opponent may still hold your leg. Press down on his far leg and pummel for the Over Under Pass vs Half Guard. If the opponent hides the important Under Hook for the control needed to pass, swim for the Under Hook for Head Control instead. Use the Knee Cross pass combined with your new Under Hook and Head Control.
