2 Part Technique - Transitioning to Knee on Belly is a great way to force the pace of the fight when your opponent is content just defending off his back from bottom side control. Blocking his farside hip with your hand, and with your other hand gripping his collar behind the nape of his neck, raise your shin on top of his belt-line and elevate your posture away to establish the knee-on-belly position. Make sure to keep balance with your other leg and to check his nearside hip with your instep to remove any space for escape. Slide the four fingers of your free hand inside his nearside collar deep enough to place the blade of your wrist on the side of his neck, and make the other grip by guiding your thumb inside his farside collar, contacting the opposite side of his neck with your forearm. Remove your knee off of his stomach, pulling him onto his side as you squeeze the collar choke for the finish. If he attempts to block you from making your secondary collar grip, slide your instep from his hip to his armpit and sit back to catch the Near Side Armbar.
