Back Escape, Crucifix Escape
2 Part Technique - It is important to never let the opponent establish the Seat Belt Control, which will limit your escaping options. Unfortunately, you cannot always count on this being the circumstances. Rolling will be your most successful option for escaping. With a tucked chin to prevent the Rear Naked Choke, roll and transition into a half guard type position and work to break free of the Seat Belt Control. If the opponent keeps his leg away of your half guard, facing the opponent while not allowing your arm to be trapped into the crucifix is the next best option. The crucifix is a very difficult position to counter, so not being in the position will always be the best escape.
