3 Part Lesson — Marcelo works Henka-no-Ushiro-Hadakajime: [I] Threaten your opponent with the One-Armed/Handed, Short/Straight Choke variation of the Rear Naked Chke. This may not work as a submission, however, the elements of control are valuable for further progression towards the finish; anchor your fingers onto the opponent's scapula and pull your elbow back, placing a pressure across his throat in parallel with his collarbone. [II] If you see the neck open when your opponent is on All-Fours, perhaps after jumping onto his Back for the Seatbelt and falling off to the side, slap on the choke and begin squeezing. When the opponent begins to defend with both hands, intercept the farther arm with 1on1 Wrist Control and flip over in a roll. [III] If the elbow of your hand that is holding the one-on-one isn't constrained by the ground, quickly pull your arm out from under his armpit and clasp your hands together for the Straight Choke with the Gable Grip Finish. If you cannot readily pull out your arm because his weight is on you, run your feet around behind and pull him up off the mat for a free angle to slip free and find the choke.
