Deep Half Guard Entry
Marcelo helps Tyga find a way to infiltrate the base of a conservative and defensive opponent. One must coordinate both the hands and feet in pulling the opponent forward. Keep your elbows low and tight to your sides as you look to hook some combination of his elbows and/or ribs to draw out his posture. Utilize your legs to hook under his thighs and tilt them over their center until you can reach for a Deep Half Guard. Marcelo prefers to transfer from the Deep Half to X-Guard; however, you can transition to any submission or sweep that suits your needs while in this position.
