2 Part Technique - Battling for grips is crucial while fighting from the Seated Guard. You cannot let your opponent grab onto your collars or pants. If he grabs onto your collar, immediately address the problem with both hands and yank his sleeve away, making sure to re-establish your own grips afterward. If he grabs onto your pants, without hesitation, knock his hands right off of your legs with the blades of your wrists, and again, following up with grips for a sweep.
