2 Part Lesson — Marcelo demonstrates several options for when his opponent is defending the collar grip from Turtle by grabbing onto his own collar: [I] If the opponent is grabbing onto his same-side collars/lapels to defend, gain 1on1 wrist control and push his hand away, in turn, pulling open his collar for the grip; finish by either setting your hooks and finishing with Katahajime or catching the Cradle on the roll. [II] If the opponent defends the collar by with a self-cross-grip, use your choking hand to tug his wrist back and forth until you can grip his collar or wrist. If he rolls before you grab his collar, maintain the wrist control and race him to the collar after you settle.

Good job to the team at MGIA. Keep up the good work. Comment on this lesson: This guy who's demonstrating with Marcelo is a purple belt and he's chewing gum when demonstrating. Come on man, it's both dangerous and disrespectful! I've seen tons of videos and this is the first time I saw something like that.
