3 Part Technique — Marcelo explains how to find a Collar Choke from Back when his opponent is grabbing onto his own collar and/or grabbing your choking-arm's sleeve: [I] While maintaining the Seatbelt, if you notice that your opponent is defending his collar with a Counter-Grip, either scrape his hand off from the top or sneak under his arm for 1on1 Wrist Control and push his hand away from his neck. Use your choking-hand to grab onto his other wrist, thus granting you a head-start as you race with him over to the Collar Grip for the choke. Depending on what is available, try both the Katahajime and the Bow-N-Arrow Choke from the Back to finish. [II] If the opponent grabs onto your choking-arm to defend, immediately yank back your arm out of his field of vision and crash back inside for the Seatbelt. [III] If you notice that the opponent is adamant about claiming dominion over your choking-arm to defend the choke, yank free you arm like before but this time, instead of re-securing the Seatbelt, go straight for the Collar Grip and the chokes.
