3 Part Lesson — Marcelo explains countermeasures for defense against 1Leg X: [I] After winning 2on1, sit deeply and raise your opponent's leg into the air with both of your Butterfly Hooks. Pull his ankle into your armpit and clamp down with your feet and elbows for 1Leg X. If he stays on his knees, look to collect the far sleeve and dump him over for the sweep. If he stands; send him backward with the 1Leg X Guard Sweep. [II] If your opponent is aware, he may try to avoid your Hook Lift by either kicking away or stepping forward; When entering into 1Leg X, make sure to follow his leg with your Reverse Butterfly Hook if he steps back, and block with your arm if he tries to step over. [III] If your opponent leaps over your knee, press his hip and far leg away to make room for your bottom knee to shoot back through. Catch his sleeve and place your hook deeper into his knee (similar to Reverse DLR) to bridge and kick him off the ground for the Hook Sweep Variation from 1Leg X.
