3 Part Lesson — Marcelo presents three ways of preventing a tight Single Leg Takedown: [I] While sprawling on your opponent's Single, if you cannot effectively apply a Whizzer or free your leg, post both of your hands on the back of his head and kick your leg free as you turn away. [II] Prepare to sprawl again after you escape the Single Leg Takedown; the opponent may be able to get off a re-shot. Capture his head an arm in a Front Headlock, pulling his elbow in to break his base. [III] If you can't slip your leg free while pushing on the back of the opponent's head, swing back around to face him and slap on a Guillotine Choke. After you connect your hands, keep your stomach heavy on the back of his neck as you continue freeing your leg.
