3 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches X-Guard to Bow-N-Arrow Choke: [I] Setting up from X-Guard, if your opponent tries to flee from your Treetop Single Leg by kicking out, either pull X-Guard again or, grab his belt and launch yourself onto his waist for a Back Bodylock, then jumping to the Seatbelt with hooks (or the Crucifix). Every transition must be quick, tight, and concise; think that your body must click or "clap" into position. [II] If you do not trust yourself to grab the belt after the technical lift, tuck his knee inside your lap and grab the belt/skirt before standing up. You can finish the takedown/sweep by picking the opponent's remaining ankle up off the mat. [III] After jumping on the back, grab the collar, switch out your hook, and fall off grabbing his leg for the Bow-N-Arrow Choke. When practicing with a partner, make sure to roll forward so to not put injurious pressure onto uke's knee.
