Single Leg Control from Seated Guard → Lapel Feed from Seated Single → Run-The-Pipe Finish → Single to Double Leg Takedown
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo strengthens his Single with the Lapel: [I] Reduce the motion of your opponent by capturing his leg from the Seated-Guard Position; wrap your arm around his knee and hide your neck while posting behind for base. Using your free hand, collect whatever material you can find from your opponent's gi (e.g. his lapel, skirt, belt tips) and feed it into your hand holding the Single-Leg Control. Perform a technical stand with the leg and either finish the Sweep by "Running-The-Pipe" or switching off to a Double-Leg Takedown. [II] It is important to not let your opponent control your free hand/sleeve. If your opponent tries to seize your hand as you feed his lapel, ignore the "Pumphandle Grip" and instead counter-grip his own hand/sleeve. From here, attempt the Technical Lift while still controlling his hand; if the opportunity presents itself, you may then feed his lapel to tighten up the hold before finishing with a Single or Double.
