2 Part Technique - You don't initiate Deep Half Guard, but it is a position you must deal with if put into the situation. Divide your body in half using an Under Hook and stepping outside of the opponent to reach under for the Deep Half Guard. Use the Shin-in Sweep by lifting the opponent's leg with your Hook and grabbing at his ankle to bend his leg in a very vulnerable sweeping position. Finish the technique by rocking with your free leg to assist in standing to your feet towards the opponent's knee. If the opponent forces his knee to the ground to defend your Shin-in Sweep entry, use your free arm to lift at the knee to create the space needed for the transition.
