Double Wrist Control from Standing → Single Leg from Butterfly Guard Pull → Ankle Pick from Butterfly → 1Leg X Guard Sweep from Ankle Pick Entry
4 Part Lesson — Marcelo shares a quick, low-risk Takedown/Sweep from Seated Guard: [I] Gain Double Wrist Control while standing before pulling guard; when your opponent pulls away his arms from your grips, use his momentum to lean into an Ankle Pick & Knee Tap. If they don't fall back from the Ankle Pick, turn your sweep into a Single Leg Takedown. [II] Use the energy of your opponent's yank back to help yourself sit up onto his leg. The timing is important; live sparring is almost impossible to imitate during a drill, but you must come as close as possible to the real thing. [III] The motion used to sweep your opponent's leg is reminiscent of the Collar & Elbow Control used for the Hook Sweep from Butterfly. Regardless of which leg is presented after your pull, use your cross-hand to tap your opponent's knee. [IV] If you realize your control isn't tight enough to stand up with a Single, Re-Pull back into Guard for Single Leg X. Immediately reconnect with a sweep or whatever your particular game dictates should come next after your second pull.
