2 Part Lesson — Marcelo passes against the Underhook from Half: If your opponent gets an Underhook on you from his Half Guard and you cannot pummel for it back, sit to your outside hip and lay across Underhook, facing toward his legs. If his Underhook is too deep to crush with your side, capture his toes to prevent him from generating power with a bridge and begin kicking on his legs. Once you can place your toes on his knee, push your leg free from his guard and run to the North/South Position to establish the Side Control. [II] If your opponent figure-fours his legs in the opposite manner, the way where you cannot grab his exposed toes, underhook his top leg and secure yourself by grabbing onto his lapel. Use this control to carry on with the Turning Pass.
