3 Part Lesson — Marcelo outlines a painful elbow attack from Butterfly: [I] If your opponent is conservatively kneeling in front of your Seated Butterfly Guard, engage in an attack by grabbing onto both of his lapels and hoisting him up into the air with your hooks. When he reaches out to post next to your head on the mat, snatch his arm and make a grip behind his elbow for the Inverted Armbar. Keep a hollowed out region of space between his arm and your body as you sit up to apply downward pressure with your grip to find the finish. [II] Use your foot to kick out his knee and widen his base to help find the proper distance necessary to hyperextend his arm with your grip. [III] If your opponent turns onto his side and rolls to prevent the armbar, ride along to the top position with his arm for the sweep.
