Double Under Control from Butterfly > Short Hook Sweep > Omoplata from Hook Sweep
3 Part Lesson -- Marcelo advocates Double Underhook Recovery when flattened: Whenever you fail at sweeping your opponent from Butterfly, immediately sit back up and pummel for two Underhooks. Upgrade the Underhook on the side of your head by jacking up the opponent's arm up onto your shoulder and reinforcing the hold with a Rear Collar Grip. Isolate the opponent's opposite elbow for a traditional Hook Sweep from Butterfly, or if the opponent hides the elbow, pancake the opponent over using both Underhooks towards the other side. Kick out the opponent's knee on the side of your Rear Collar Grip. [04:24] If your Underhook gets shallow from your opponent backing away, switch for a Cross Collar Grip and apply the Short Hook Sweep. Come up on top and look for an Underhook; but if it's not there, solidify the top with a grip on the lapel. [06:34] If your opponent stops the Short Hook Sweep by posting their arm, release the Rear Collar Grip Underhook and hip escape into the posted arm. Swing your leg over the shoulder before your opponent drives forward with weight and finish the Omoplata.
