2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo consolidates a pass from standing: After clearing your opponent's legs, maneuver your knee against their bottom leg to block it from recovering back their guard. Swat away their frames against your upper body and drop down onto them into Kuzure-Kesagatame, Immediately, look to secure Under-Hook & Head Control and/or grab your opponent's gi jacket to help stabilize the top position. [03:40] If your opponent is quick to recover their legs back in front of you after you've bypassed them, you may need to keep a hold of your passing grips longer before releasing them and blocking with your knee. If you anticipate or realize this difficulty is present, opt to forgo blocking with your knee and dropping down in place after you get by their legs. Combine the drop with a swat with your arms against their frames to fall into place and grab a hold of the Side Control Position.
