Seatbelt Control from Back
Marcelo explains to Tyga the default configuration and dynamics for holding onto Seatbelt Control from the Back: It is important to use your grip to occlude your opponent from directly accessing your choking-hand; cover up your wrist with a ball-socket style grip (cup-n-saucer, fist and false-grip, et al.) in such a manner that the hand of your arm draping over your opponent's shoulder is held underneath by your under-hooking hand. If you reverse the grip, i.e. with your choking-hand exposed, your opponent will maintain a defensive advantage. Make sure to hide your fingers and thumbs while gripping as well; although small-digit manipulation is illegal in nearly all of sportive grappling, it is difficult to deter an unscrupulous competitor from taking advantage of such an opportunity when oftentimes be it can be performed discreetly albeit illegally. Direct your squeeze inward with your grip, pulling your opponent's chest towards your own, keeping your elbows from over-rotating in either direction thus allowing your grip to travel away from center. Hold tension with the Seatbelt when your opponent tries to escape, but learn to relax when it is time to conserve energy or begin working towards the choke.
