2 Part Technique - When possible, it is ideal to land onto the choking-arm side after securing Seatbelt Control from Back to limit your opponent's options for escape. However, this doesn't always happen and you need to be prepared to deal with a savvy opponent who has managed to land to the side he can begin escaping with his shoulder to the mat. To prevent his escape, use your head to block his shoulder from dropping onto the mat and also post the foot of your bottom hook on the mat. Use this post to help shift your hips as your top hook drags his hips and weight back to the favorable side. If he still insists on escaping from the back after you've blocked him with your head, he may begin to carelessly expose his neck for attack. Shoot your choking arm across his throat and clasp on top of his shoulder from the Seatbelt Control. Use your top hook to kick him off of you and rock him up onto his butt where you can finish with the Rear Naked Choke.
