2 Part Technique - One of the best ways to set up the Rear Naked Choke is to kill your opponent's defenses by using your top leg hook to trap his arm. If you happen to wind up landing with your seatbelt control on the shoulder of your non-choking arm, secure a 1on1 grip with your bottom hand and use your choking hand to grab a hold of his top wrist. Push his wrist down his side and trap his arm with your top leg by digging your heel tightly into his stomach. With his arms out of commission, you only have to fight his against his chin to sink in the choke. Be sure to use the thin part of your wrist-bone to wedge under his chin from the front of his face, not the side. Once under, elevate your elbow to lift his head as you shift your arm across his throat where you can finish the hold. If you end up on the other side with the seatbelt, use your 1on1 to push his wrist down so you can trap his arm with your top hook. Use your choking hand to secure his bottom wrist so your top hand is free to peel back his forehead, revealing his neck. Shoot your choking arm across his throat and quickly secure the Rear Naked Choke for the finish.
