2 Part Technique - It is common for the opponent to continue to reach your legs for a take down in the Front Head lock. This only gives an opening for the Crucifix. Switch to the Seatbelt Control to stabilize the position and dig your wrist to can open under the opponent's chin for the Rear Naked Choke. If the opponent rolls to try and escape, maintain your control and pull the opponent up with your Seatbelt. To escape, he must put his back on the mat. The combined force of him trying to escape and you chopping once at the neck, gives you a strong wedge to secure the choke. If the opponent is escaping with his back on the mat, use the Crucifix Armbar for the finish. Using the Rear Naked Choke and Armbar from the Crucifix will really expose the opponent to make mistakes because of the difficulty defending multiple submissions. Also remember to only stretch your legs enough to extend his arm for the Armbar, and then lift your hips to finish; Otherwise, you run the risk of letting their arm slipping out from over-stretching.
