2 Part Technique - Sometimes instead of defending against your initial pass, your opponent will opt to attack your posted arm with a Kimura. Ignore this temporarily and continue passing; focusing primarily on making sure he doesn't capture your leg in his half guard. With your legs free to move, circle around his head and turn his hold against him via Farside Armbar. If he manages to catch the half guard, counter the kimura by grabbing onto your attacked wrist and lifting upward with the Pull Escape. If you don't have enough time to grab onto your wrist before he puts your shoulder in danger, momentarily block his finish by latching onto the inside of your hip. Once you have the time and room, move to the Pull Escape and use it to either submit him or set up for the pass.

if your opponent throws his leg over your head and hits the kimura e.g.. sakuraba vs ralek gracie... what is the best defense at this point? pull away? or drive into your opponent? or neither?

Excellent video!

what if the guy on the bottom just holds on to the kimura and while you are trying to do one of the escapes mentioned in the video he flips you over to his right? I constantly find myself in the position that i can buy sometime by grabbing my leg as marcelo explained but then i get out muscled and flipped over while i am trying to get my other hand in to assist.

any thoughts?
