3 Part Technique - If your opponent attacks one of your legs after you pop up to break his Closed Guard, take note of which side arm he uses and simply hop back down to reset. On the second attempt, pin the wrist of the hand he used before to allow yourself to base up in a staggered stance, and break his guard for the Knee Slide Pass. If he avoids letting you hold onto his arm before you stand, pop up anyway and try shifting more weight onto the foot he tries to uproot from the mat. If you happen to run into a taller opponent who can twist underneath and grab your other foot, reset back down and prepare to try again, but this time ready to capture his reaching hand in the Cross Arm Trap. Pick him up off the mat with it, break open his Closed Guard, and pass to Side Control using the Knee Slide. If you can maintain the Cross Arm Trap, hold onto it when you arrive into the Side Control, and use it to set-up an easy North South Choke.
