Body Slam vs Guillotine, Knee Buckle vs Guillotine, Guillotine Escape from Side Control
3 Part Technique - You may find yourself caught in a Guillotine Choke from Standing, usually after an unsuccessful Double Leg Takedown. Before the finishing pressure is applied to your neck, warp his posture by wrapping over his shoulder, blocking his knee from striking your face, and running around to his side as you weave your arm inside his legs for a Pick-Up. If he is too heavy to lift, modify his posture by buckling his knee with a tap from yours, and bending him backward to the ground. When training with a partner, protect his knee from unnecessary stress by making sure not to sit any of your weight onto the joint, or by not clearing your leg away from his fall. If you feel him try to enclose a guard around your waist or legs, quickly jump off to the side and begin the grip breaking process. Regardless of the method in which you end up on the floor, loosen his hold on your head by applying pressure to his face through your shoulder.
