Taking the Back vs Single Leg
2 Part Lesson - Marcelo retains the Seatbelt Control after his opponent counters with a Single Leg attempt on the Spin-Around & Go-Behind from the Front Headlock Position: [I] If your opponent flags his arm up like a mailbox to prevent you from taking his back off of the sprawl, execute a Sprawl and Sit-Out making your hips heavy and run your legs backwards behind his arm. The movement is similar to winding the "hands" of the Clock Choke in reverse (of the strangle). [05:44][II] Marcelo wants us to remember that moves in jiu-jitsu often can have independently working movements in terms of the upper and lower body. If your opponent locks his hands together and dumps you on your back with the Seatbelt still fastened, straighten your leg to break his grip and avoid the Reverse Side Control (bottom) by running away and regaining the top or dominant back control positioning.
