Purple-Belt to Brown-Belt
Marcelo, Marcos, and Paul explain how students should continue progressing through the ranks: Focus on constructing your own personalized plans for learning new things and improving; take responsibility for knowing which particular course of action should be undertaken in order to better not only yourself but also your training environment. Discerning the difference between knowing which areas to specifically work on and knowing when to ask for help and guidance may prove difficult, but is a big part of gaining a much more sustainable competence and proficiency on the mat. Strive to strike a healthy balance of inquiry and appeal to a trusted authority, and introspective self-determination to help inform your jiu-jitsu journey.
