3 Part Technique - Bridging is the ideal method for the creation of space between you and your opponent when he is holding you down in Side Control. Use your hips to generate enough distance for you to dislodge his base and extend your bottom arm on his hip. Use your overhook to drag yourself out from underneath his Underhook & Head Control, slipping under his armpit and spinning on top to the Front Headlock. Attack in combination the Seatbelt Control for the Back, and the Guillotine Choke; if you can pry his arm away from his knee, take his back. If he blocks that path, his neck is open for the choke.

I like the way you create space in the beginning. Would it work to hip in after you hipped out to regain guard or half guard?
