2 Part Technique - Make the first move, and make the last move. It doesn't matter what he does, you respond back and keep ahead of him on your terms. Take for example the following sequence: You reach Knee-On-Belly, but you get bumped off and shoved back inside Closed Guard. Rather than resting and waiting for him to act, pop up immediately to your feet and break it open for the pass. Don't wait. Don't hesitate. Push the pace. If he tries to work an Open Guard by grabbing onto your ankles, step out of his grips and hit the Standing Step Pass.
