2 Part Technique - Establishing Side Control after the Standing Step Pass is a matter of persistence and determination; start the pass as low, close, and heavy as possible before cutting around for Knee-On-Belly. If your opponent continually recovers guard or is able to keep your leg inside his guard for Deep Half, sprawl your weight back and block his underhook. Stabilize the position with a figure-four lock around his Half Guard, and pummel for your own underhook with both hands for the Over Under Pass.
