Arm Triangle Defense, Sit Out vs Front Headlock, Guillotine Escape
2 Part Technique - Marcelo devotes this lesson to preparing his competitors for a well-timed sprawl against a takedown. Before your opponent has a chance to arm triangle your extended arms, go into protective mode, hiding your neck and armpits. Use the weight of your chest to immobilize his arms and look to unclasp his hands for the escape. Make sure to splay out your legs to prevent getting rolled, but if you feel the opponent begin to pull guard, drive into him with your shoulder and begin the guillotine defense.
