Sit Up Escape vs Side Control, Elbow Push Escape vs Side Control, Bicep Push Escape vs Side Control
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo reveals two important escapes which prevent him from getting passed: [I] Sometimes your opponent will surprisingly manage to land on your side and catch you quite literally, off-guard; when this occurs, dedicate both of your hands to warding away his cross-facing arm and perform the Elbow-Push Escape from Side Control. Utilize the momentum of the opponent's attempt to hold your head to help pass his arm over your face as you rock your legs and sit up for the stiff-arm. [II] If your opponent stifles your escape by switching his base into a scarf-hold position, and, he is hiding his arm from the Elbow-Push, sit up into the Biceps-Push Escape. Remember to connect your posture to the mat by posting behind your body with your free hand.
