Marcelo discusses with Marc the important principle (in Sport BJJ) of Constant Attack: When against a clock, you can't waste time defending; also, you can't waste your time applying ineffective attacks; e.g. If you apply a technique, and your opponent is able to easily defend without expending too much energy (as when trying to pass a flexible guard), then you need to find a new attack or quickly reapply the same attack to break his defense. Such is the case for the Standing Step Pass, wherein Marcelo can repeatedly hit the pass without having to reset his position after the first defense.
