2 Part Lesson — Marcelo uses action-reaction to set-up a Hook Sweep: [I] Control your opponent's hands to prevent his offense and to help you gain access to his back via Double Underhooks. If he begins to frame against your neck and face before you can maximize the Double Under Control, switch immediately to a Collar Tie & Elbow Control for a quick Hook Sweep from Butterfly Guard. Make sure to compress his head and arm together to break his posture for the sweep. [II] If your opponent removes his head from your reach for the Collar Tie, switch for 2on1 Control and pull him back down into range. Before he postures back up away, snap on the Collar & Elbow Control for the Hook Sweep. Always finish by finding an underhook and clasping your hands together along with a Cross-face to stabilize the top position.
